Crecí comiendo paltas. Cuando habían muchas, las comía para el desayuno (hecha puré, con sal y pan), para el almuerzo (en una ensalda) y para la cena (cortada en rodajas para acompañar la comida). Ahora me doy cuenta que era un poco exagerado :). Pero todas las veces era con sal. Después nos mudamos a Paraguay y la gente decía que hacían jugo con leche y azúcar! que?!?! palta y azúcar?? nooo!! me llevó varios años animarme en hacer algo dulce con la palta.
Un año unos amigos nos regalaban paltas cada fin de semana, eran enormes! y ahí fue cuando decidí hacer algo dulce con ellas. Para agradecerles por darnos tantas paltas, les hice éste fudge. Para mi admiración, era rico! cremoso, chocolatoso y con un toque a palta.

I grew up eating avocados. When we had lots of avocados, I would eat them for breakfast (mashed, with salt and bread), for lunch (in a salad), and for dinner (sliced with some salt). Now I realized that I over did it :). But every time I had it, it was with salt. Then we moved to Paraguay, and people were saying that they made juice with the avocados, with milk and sugar! what?!?! avocado and sugar?? nooo!! it took me a few years before making something with avocado and sugar in it.
For a while, we had some friends that gave us huge avocados every weekend, and that is when I decided to make some kind of dessert with them. To thank them for giving us so many avocados, I made them this fudge. And to my surprise, it was good! creamy, chocolaty and with a hint of avocado.

Cortar la palta por la mitad y con una cuchara sacar la pulpa. Aplastar con un tenedor.
Cut the avocado in half. With a spoon, scoop out the flesh and mash it with a fork.
En un bol mezclar la mantequilla y la palta. Añadir el chocolate en polvo y mezclar.
In a bowl mix butter and avocado. Add cocoa and mix well.
Añadir 3 tazas de azúcar a la mezcla de palta; mezclar y añadir 1 taza más de azúcar. Queremos una consistencia pastosa. Si es necesario añadir media taza más de azúcar. Poner en un molde cubierto con papel metálico y engrasado. llevar a la heladera por 2 horas antes de cortar.
Add
3 cups of confectioners´sugar to the avocado; mix well and add another
cup of sugar. We want a thick mixture. If needed, add more
confectioners´sugar. Cover a square pan with foil. Grease well, and pour
in the fudge. Refrigerate for 2 hours before cutting.
Receta:
1/2 taza de puré de palta (aguacate)
1 cuchara de mantequilla blanda
1/2 taza de cacao en polvo
4 a 5 tazas de azúcar impalpáble
1. En un bol mezclar la mantequilla y la palta. Añadir el chocolate en polvo y mezclar.
2. Añadir 3 tazas de azúcar a la mezcla de palta; mezclar y añadir 1 taza más de azúcar. Queremos una consistencia pastosa. Si es necesario añadir media taza más de azúcar. Poner en un molde cubierto con papel metálico y engrasado. llevar a la heladera por 2 horas antes de cortar.

1 tablespoon butter, soften
1/2 cup cocoa powder
4 to 5 cups confectioners´sugar
