In English this is called “banana
bread”, but every
time I share my bread in Paraguay,
they say: no, this is a
cake! The
bakeries in Paraguay called it “budín” (pudding) and in other
countries,
“queques”.
In English this “bread” goes in the category of “quick breads” because it doesn´t have
yeast. The
difference that I see is that “banana cake” has butter instead
of oil like the
bread , and the texture is different and, I think, better. But
that is just my
opinion.
I make it with oil when
I want to serve it for breakfast, and I use butter when I serve
it for dessert.
You can try both ways, using oil or butter, and see which one you
like best.
